Don't Dress for Dinner is a frenetic case of mistaken identity with more twists than a corkscrew.
When Jacqueline decides to visit her mother for a few days, her husband Bernard sees an opportunity for a cozy weekend with his new mistress. His bachelor pal Robert calls to announce his return from Hong Kong, so Bernard invites him along as his alibi, also hiring a Cordon Bleu-level cook to cater a delicious dinner. But when Jacqueline realises Robert is coming for a visit everything changes, and the high speed farce begins!
One impossible situation leads to another as the hapless friend Robert finds himself the target of both amorous attention and wrathful vengeance, while Bernard tries desperately to salvage a scrap of illicit bliss from the wreckage of a weekend.
Supper Theatre Production
Supper Theatre Concept
Invercargill Repertory are proud to present for our final production of 2020, Don't Dress for Dinner.
For the very first time Rep. will be producing this show as a Supper Theatre. This is a brand new concept which will cater, not only to our regular patrons but also the corporate market. Due to the timing of this production, at the beginning of the festive season, it is ideal for a group function or just a night out with friends. What could be more entertaining than coming out for a supper and show!
Don't Dress for Dinner will be staged at our purpose built Repertory House Theatre. This facility gives us the option to retract the auditorium seats and replace them with tables and chairs, which is ideal for the supper theatre experience. Patrons can arrive, relax with grazing platters, purchase drinks from our fully licensed bar and enjoy a theatrical farce which guarantees some belly laughs.
If you would like anymore information and wish to register your interest in this show, please fill out the adjacent form. In doing this, you will receive priority announcements and news about what will hopefully be a great new theatrical experience.
