Repertory Rumblings October 2025

Welcome to our latest addition of the Repertory Newsletter.

Calling all Members / Volunteers / Anyone

2026 is the 90th Anniversary of Repertory. While Repertory became an incorporated society in 1935, the first plays were staged in 1936. They were White Blackbird by Lenox Robinson; The Devil’s Disciple by George Bernard Shaw, directed by A R Dunlop; Night Must Fall by Emilyn Williams, directed by Nancy Nicholson; and The First Mrs Fraser by Cosmo Stuart. These plays were staged at what was then Victoria Hall.

If you are interested in helping us celebrate our 90th Anniversary next year, we are creating a sub-committee to assist with events, marketing and activities and we would love you to help us.

We are having a get together / information evening next TUESDAY 7 OCTOBER at 7.00 pm. We would love for you to join us to discuss our plans and help pitch-in. Without our volunteers and member's assistance, Repertory Invercargill cannot continue promoting the Performing Arts in the community. Please join us at Repertory House on Tuesday.

Recent Play : Mums the Word 2 - Teenagers

Thank you to all the actors, crew, helpers and you, who helped ensure Mums the Word 2 was so successful. Without the assistance of so many we would not be able to put on the shows that we do.

 Upcoming Play : Peter Pan

A timeless tale that never grows old! While chasing after his mischievous shadow, Peter Pan encounters the Darling children in their nursery. With a dash of Tinkerbell's fairy dust, Wendy, John, and Michael take off on an exhilarating flight to Neverland, leaving behind the flamboyant Nanny Nelly Knuckles - or so they think. In Neverland, they meet the Lost Boys, the enigmatic Native Islanders, and the fearsome Captain Hook, who, alongside his bumbling sidekick Smee, is bent on revenge against Peter Pan, the boy who fed his hand to a tick-tocking crocodile.

This play will be staged 26 to 30 November, with a matinee on Saturday and Sunday.

 Constitution

A Special Meeting will be held at the end of October to formally adopt the changes made to the constitution before it is submitted to the Charities Services. More details will follow soon.
